Laura spent 10 years honing her teaching practice across Montessori schools in London, South Africa and Malawi before leading Education at Playhood, where she has been the driving force in shaping our unique nursery.
She lectures at Anglia Ruskin University and is a trustee for the Early Years Alliance. Laura holds a Masters degree in Pedagogy and a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Studies, incorporating Montessori Practice.
Prior to starting Playhood, Karen worked in community innovation in the context of urban and environmental regeneration, most notably in the wake of the 2012 London Olympics at LLDC.
She co-founded Echo, a skill-sharing network, currently being rolled out in the Ukraine, and holds a Masters degree in Environmental Systems Thinking.
She is developing a specialism in children’s space design, combining insights from education, child development and biophilic design. Both Karen’s children attended Playhood.
Prior to joining Playhood with her son, Georgia worked in youth advocacy for organisations ranging from Amnesty International to Nike.
She brings a commercial background in research, strategy and marketing communications.
Georgia holds a Masters degree in Gender & International Relations, and has researched and written extensively about changing family life around the world.
Jana is an experienced educator with over 10 years experience of working with young children. She has been an indispensable member of the team since joining in 2021.
Jana is currently studying towards the Level 4 Montessori Diploma.
